2024 Chevrolet Blazer vs Blazer EV
The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer and 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV both deliver thrilling performance, exceptional fuel economy, and family-friendly features to suit your busy lifestyle. But the Blazer EV is more than an electrified version of the classic Blazer — it has a host of unique features that make it a top pick for anyone looking to go electric.
Power and efficiency
The gas-powered Blazer is a cut above the competition with its pair of capable powertrain options. Its standard 2.0-liter engine pumps out 228 horsepower, 258 lb-ft of torque. Kick things up a notch with the available 3.6-liter V6 dynamo, which offers 308 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, all while earning up to 26 mpg on the highway. [1]
In terms of power and efficiency, the Blazer EV Super Sport model tops out at 557 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque, courtesy of Wide Open Watts mode. All this power gives it an impressive 0-60 time under 4 seconds.
Range estimates depend on which model and drivetrain configuration you choose. The LT and RS trims offer 279 miles of range with all-wheel drive. Choose the RS with rear-wheel drive for a GM-estimated 324 miles, or go with the power-packed SS trim for 294 miles of range with Performance AWD.[2]
Exterior styling
No matter which Blazer you choose, you’ll stand out from the crowd. The combustion-engine model sports muscular Camaro-inspired sculpting and an aggressive front end with narrow headlights. Its broad, confident stance communicates its dynamic, confident performance.
The Blazer EV is based on the flexible GM Ultium Platform, which opens up EV-exclusive styling options. Chevy designers took full advantage of this innovation by pushing the envelope with its streamlined profile and aggressive bodylines that evoke speed and athleticism. The SS model is the most eye-catching of the bunch, with its exclusive grille, 22-inch wheels, and contrasting black roof. The EV also distinguishes itself with animated welcome lighting, an illuminated Bowtie emblem, and a distinctive front end.
Interior
Both models of the Blazer seat five passengers and offer plenty of room for everyone to stretch out. They’re similarly matched in terms of cargo space — the combustion-engine model offers a total of 64.2 cubic feet of cargo room, while the EV provides 59.2 cubic feet of storage space.
The gas-powered Blazer comes standard with heated front seats. Upgrade for comforts including heated rear outboard seats and a heated steering wheel.
In the EV, ambient lighting and heated/ventilated front seats come standard on the SS and RS trims. Cozy up to heated rear seats, standard on the SS. The RS trim makes a statement with stylish touches like red and blue contrast stitching on the RS. Choose the SS for vibrant Adrenaline Red upholstery with Argon Orange accents
Technology
All models of the gas-powered Blazer come equipped with a high-definition 10.2-inch touch-screen infotainment system display and a 4.2-inch Drive Information Center. Choose a higher trim for built-in GPS navigation and an 8-inch Driver Information Center. Wireless smartphone connectivity comes standard across the lineup. Upgrade for wireless phone charging capabilities.
A spectacular 17.7-inch touch-screen display is the star of the Blazer EV’s infotainment system. It works in tandem with an 11-inch touch-screen Driver Information Center. The Blazer EV is fully integrated with the MyChevy app for easy route planning, so you can easily recharge your vehicle on your next road trip. Plus, wireless smartphone connectivity makes it simple to access your favorite apps and streaming services.
Safety
Both Blazers come equipped with Chevy Safety Assist, a bundle of six intelligent safety features to help you on your daily drive. For additional peace of mind, the classic Blazer offers available Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, HD Surround Vision, and Rear Park Assist. You can supplement the Blazer EV with Reverse Automatic Braking, Advanced Park Assist, and Super Cruise hands-free driving technology.
