Reasons to Buy a Cadillac

The History

Henry Leland

Founded back in 1902 by Henry Leland in Detroit, Michigan, Cadillac has stood for relentless performance, bold design and innovative technology. The Model Thirty by Cadillac was the first production car that featured an electric self-starter, ignition and lighting.

The Roaring Twenties is when Cadillac cemented its brand image as one of beauty and luxury. This image is still carried out today by the Cadillac lineup. After World War II, Cadillac designer Harley Earl made a revolutionary impact on automotive design by introducing the tail fin.

The 1950s brought new and revolutionary safety features for the brand which forced other automakers to keep up with them. The innovative safety features carried well into the sixties. The tail fin era came to an end when it was discontinued in 1965. In 1975, Cadillac made history becoming the first car manufacturer to provide electronically fuel-injected engines in United States production cars.

Cadillac changed the game again in the 80s with how people purchased cars and pioneered customer service practices. Cadillac introduced standardized procedures for the delivery of a new vehicle. This included inspections, walk-around tutorials and ride-and-drive demonstrations. The 1990s were a great decade for Cadillac with their 1992 32-valve Northstar V8 engine introducing 16 patented advancements.

Today Cadillac's innovation and design continues to be pushing the envelope with something new and exciting. Cadillac celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2002 with no signs of slowing down anytime soon. They continue to make improvements every year and be a step ahead of their competition.
